Plastic second life - A Plastic Free World?

Sustainability and recycling is increasingly, therefore industries and producers are trying to reduce the abuse of plastic packaging. In the plastics industry polymers will not be definitely eliminated, so consumers will try to reduce its waste.

To obtain best quality products, Alpaplastic uses the right polymers quantity without waste.
In a view of circular economy , alpaplastic uses raw materials from industrial and post-consumer recycled goods, to reach sustainability goals. Most of alpaplastic spools can be purchased in “Plastic Second Life®” version made with 70% of recycled plastic. Feel free to choose!

Second life plastic is an Italian trademark created in 2015 by IPPR (Italian institute for recycled plastics – www.ippr.it/en/ ) which certifies the origin of plastic raw material.

Alpaplastic took the decision to choose Household waste recycling certification to produce its spools. Plastic waste is collected from Household , then separated in a plastic treatment plant, washed and regenerated from a certified supplier. Afterwards the granulated plastic is supplied to alpaplastic which transforms this material in spools. After their use, they can be thrown away with other plastic packaging to be recycled once again.

Why grey coloured spools?
Grey colour is generated after beeing mixed from plastic garbage and can be easily recognized by an IR sensor in a selection plant.

That’s circular economy!

Second life plastic® trademark is one of the approved 6 trademarks in Europe from Circular plastic alliance allowed to officially communicate the use of recycled plastic in UE. The Circular Plastics Alliance aims to boost the EU market for recycled plastics to 10 million tonnes by 2025. alpaplastic is actively participating to this process ! In fact in 2021, alpaplastic used more than 260000 kg of certified recycled raw material.
